MENTOR DYNAMICS offers a range of non-corrosive materials that out-perform metals in bulk material handling systems. The choice of material depends on the application and the required performance. For example, for demanding applications such as impact areas in a hopper, chute, or silo, you can select from :
  • Engineering Grade Polymers
  • Urethane/ceramic composition
  • Ceramic brick and shapes
  • Thermal Bonded Ceramic and Tungsten Carbide
  • Urethane sheet
  • Each material offers a different set of properties, cost and benefits.

    Dyna-Flo® (Engineering Grade Polymers)
    (Engineering Grade Polymers)
For applications that require a low coefficient of friction, wear resistance, blunt impact resistance and corrosion resistance, our Dyna-Flo® family of Engineering Grade Polymers will fill your need. These unique materials have a blend of attributes that updates the design possibilities of most applications involving the movement of bulk materials or objects. From hopper liners, coal bunkers, chutes, conveyor wear parts, on or off-road dump truck linings, snow plow blades, salt spreader boxes, construction equipment buckets, to dock fender facings, our Engineering Grade Polymers exceed the requirements. Some grades even meet the stringent requirements of the FDA for food applications. Whether your interest is in the area of Industrial, Marine, Transportation, Agriculture, or Recreation, MENTOR DYNAMICS can fit the polymer to the application. For special shape applications (ie. tubing, channels, rod, bar, profiles) different configurations are available. Gauges (thickness) available from 1/16" to 13". Sheet sizes from 48" x 96" to 160 inches wide x 200 feet long (most materials). Compatible for applications that operate at less than 350° F. Weight example: ¼" is 1.25 lbs./sq. ft., ½" is 2.5 lbs./sq. ft., 2" is 10 lbs./sq. ft., and 12" is 60 lbs./sq. ft.

    DynaWear (Urethane/Ceramic Panels)
    (DynaWear Urethane/Ceramic Panels)
Our best selling impact area material.  DynaWear urethane/ceramic panels are an advanced performance material that provides the wear properties of ceramic with greater tolerance to impact from tramp materials or hammer blows.  This material consists of epoxy bonded ceramic tiles attached to an expanded metal core and embedded in a urethane matrix. Ceramic tiles range in thickness from 1/4" to 1". With the urethane backing, the finished material ranges in thickness from 1/2" to 2". DynaWear urethane/ceramic panels are factory fabricated to the size and shape required for each application. The upper temperature limit of the standard DynaWear urethane/ceramic panel is 200°F. However, a special formulation is available for higher temperature (<350°F) applications and/or areas with high moisture (total immersion). MENTOR DYNAMICS offers a complete line of fastener systems, (both mechanical and welded inserts) to attach DynaWear panels. Weight example:1/4" on 1/4" (1/2" overall) is 6.5 pounds per sq. ft.

    Ceramic Brick and Shapes
    (Ceramic Brick)
For applications that need only abrasion resistance, or the combination of excellent abrasion resistance and ability to with stand higher temperatures (<1,500°F), ceramic can be the answer. Ceramic can be used at impact points on chutes, hopper walls, air separators, mills, fans, nozzles, and transition areas. MENTOR DYNAMICS’ skilled installation technicians can fit and install both adhesive and weld-in ceramic brick, pipe brick and monolithic shaped ceramic liners. Lining both flat and radius surfaces is not a problem. MENTOR DYNAMICS will also pre-mount bricks to metal plates for easier and faster on-site installations.

    DynaBon (Thermal Bonding)
    (DynaBon - Thermal Bonding)
DynaBon is an advanced thermal bonding technology that combines specialty structural adhesives and wear resistant materials. Thermal bonded wear surfaces are for applications requiring high reliability, impact resistance, and wear protection. DynaBon ceramic and tungsten carbide technology can be used at impact points on exhauster fan blades, valve gates, mill paddles, pneumatic piping, nozzles, cyclones and etc. The flat surface can be machined for ultimate smoothness.

    DynaThane (Urethane Sheet)
    (DynaThane Urethane Sheet)
For the impact area of bulk materials that have little chance of sticking, DynaThane 100% urethane sheet can be the material of choice. Properties include: excellent corrosion and chemical resistance, and a surface with an average Shore A durometer of 85. This combination of properties gives DynaThane greater impact resistance than either metal or ceramic, and can be used in those applications where metals or ceramics will not last. The upper temperature limit of a DynaThane urethane sheet is 180°F. A special formulation is available for higher temperature (<350°F) applications or areas with high moisture (total immersion). USDA and FDA approved materials are also available on special order. DynaThane sheet is available from 1/8" to 2" thick and in sheet sizes to 48" wide by 120" long. MENTOR DYNAMICS offers a variety of fastener systems for installing urethane sheet, including: a urethane capped elevator bolt, adhesive, or weld studs. Other methods of attachment and sheet sizes are available on a custom order basis. Weight example: 1/2" is 3.13 pounds per sq. ft.
